It was on Feb. 5, 1909, that three men appointed by the Johnson County Commissioners as the new library’s board of directors drew up articles of incorporation for the library to make use of the $12,500 gift received from the Andrew Carnegie foundation.

Friends of the Library Book Club
Book Club
The Friends of the Library Book Club meets at the Johnson County Library at 3 pm, on the second Tuesday of the month. Interested in being a Friend of the Library but Book Clubs aren't your thing? No worries! Come to a regular meeting at 4 p.m. on the second Tuesday of the month through the school year to get information on how you can join the Friends and help the Library.
